About a week and a half back, Jerboa on the Play Store received an update that added 0.18 support and started displaying a similar message whenever you logged in, but didn't actually block using the app or posting, but certain features were not working correctly.

As of the update yesterday, Jerboa crashes unceremoniously if you happen to be previously logged in on lemmy.blahaj.zone, and prevents fresh login with the message above.

I'm a bit worried about how the Jerboa devs are handling updates ☹️

Imma be real, the Jerboa app is kinda ass and there are already better solutions. Wefwef looks awesome, I'm currently using Liftoff. I couldn't get Jerboa to work on my OnePlus 6t, and when I did the experience just wasn't that good. As other Reddit app devs move over, it'll get better. My Reddit client of choice, Sync, is getting converted over for Lemmy right now, super excited for that.

Same. The crashing made me switch but Liftoff is working great!

Yeah I really wish they added litterally any backwards compatibility :/

You can read my other comment here if you want to downgrade the app until blahaj.zone updates: https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/comment/438116

I had to downgrade to 0.0.33

Also, I'd recommend looking into installing via F-Droid instead of Google Play Store. Play Store has become rather enshittified.

The people who are working on Jerboa are by their own admission not making the app a priority right now.

Personally, I'm using Jerboa, but I plan to switch to Thunder as soon as they implement the ability to look at your own profile via the app.

Droid version is working now, FWIW
