Hurdy gurdy and the crumhorn
Folk and Traditional Music
A community for all traditional styles of music, from Bluegrass and Bavarian Stubenmusi via Inuit music and djembé drumming from Ghana to Gamelan, Baltic choral music, Andean pan flutes and everything in between as long as it is handmade. This is a place for traditional culture, not nationalism.
I like many string and wind instruments. I never heard the kamancheh before coming here, but I've seen similar instruments. If you have song recommendations ready, I'll give them a listen.
from the instruments i mentioned (i have LOADS of links from all over, just waiting for unsuspecting innocents ;D ), besides the kamancheh tunes you heard in my other post...
a bit of kudyapi (Philppine boat lute) from Master Samaon Sulaiman https://piped.adminforge.de/watch?v=2OGHt50WhcI https://piped.adminforge.de/watch?v=FqtEPoNEg-U
i don't have many songs (i lean more towards instrumental), but here's a traditional song (I think, google is useless for confirming things anymore) on a different spiked fiddle. Madama Mariama by griot and ritti master Juldeh Camara from Gambia, accompanied by Justin Adams and Roy Oodds who give it a lot of blues https://piped.adminforge.de/watch?v=TTtrUiWZK-o
Slängpolska efter Byss-Calle, from Väsen with Olov Johansson on nyckelharpa https://piped.adminforge.de/watch?v=7gWLH7ZrMgw
If you have an ear for classical, look for Eric Rydvall's work on nyckelharpa
I hope you enjoy something from these :)
