Tell me again how electric cars are the unsafe ones.

According to the notice, the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) in the vehicles could leak brake fluid and cause an electrical short over time, which may start a fire while the car is parked or driving.
This particular failure mode could, in theory, happen in both internal-combustion and electric cars.
I know I'm just being a snot.
Why are people still buying these?
The vehicles in the recall at 7-12 years old.
Frankly, I really like my 2013 Santa Fe. It's been very reliable and generally problem-free.
Cheap with lots of features included
Why not?
Constant recalls and warranty issues. Every generation is "we definitely fixed everything this time" until five years pass and they start to fall apart again. Their engines are made of tinfoil.
It's like that with ANY new car/truck regardless of fuel type. The current generation of ICE/PHEV/EV vehicles are ALL incredibly complex machines. The days of purely mechanical controls, and a simple combustion engine ended back in the mid-1970s. The more complex they system the more potential points of failure. Not justifying the fails...
Has anyone open sourced a car?
It would be really cool to see how all those systems come together.
