Hello, Mlem Community!

Tonight we bring you another update. Not as massive as the last updates, but still with some wonderful new goodies to test and enjoy! See below:

NEW ADDITIONS

  • New, gorgeous Profile tab!
  • Added the ability to delete posts and comments
  • Added option to show user's server in command and post views
  • Added Lemmy 0.18 new sort options
  • Updated reply field to display account name and the username you're replying to
  • Added setting for default sorting for comments and posts

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed subscribed communities only showing the first 10 communities
  • Fixed OP users not showing up as orange
  • Fixed account connection issues if the server domain name contained "v1" in it
  • Fixed favorites duplication issue in the community list
  • Fixed posts with no thumbnail URL displaying incorrectly

KNOWN ISSUES

  • Tapping comment text in profile does not navigate to comment in context. Tap comment link instead.
  • NSFW images embedded in description text do not blur. (this is a Lemmy issue)

MORE TO COME

  • Full a11y compliance which should work perfectly with iOS's Accessibility functionality like Guided Access and Screen Reader coming. Each build comes with increased functionality!
  • Messages Tab
  • New & improved fullscreen image viewer
  • Inbox notifications
  • Custom app icons

Again, please keep in mind that this is beta software. As such, it's not feature-complete and there will be bugs and unexpected behavior. Note that there are still some issues with the profile. It doesn't currently page any content so it will only fetch the first set of saved/commented/posted content. Hopefully next release I have that working!

I didn’t think this would be the feature I’d miss the most, but “share as image” for a comment with “include original post” was a fast and convenient way for me to share comments with context to friends.

that was a bug and probably wan't accurate. If you look at your profile on the web interface, Lemmy does not dispaly that information to users.

Lemmy's web UI doesn't, but the API seems to provide that information, if I understand PersonAggregates correctly.

Awesome! The addition of the profile tab is huge. Definitely getting increasing Apollo vibes and it’s really helping my mourning for Apollo. Just needs a similar icon and I can go into full denial!

Thank you so much for fixing the communities list; I can see all my subscriptions now. One question though, I can’t seem to find how to edit my own posts and comments. Am I missing something or is that feature coming soon?

Am I doing something wrong here? First it says "logged in to lemm.ee as …" and then "couldn’t fetch your account‘s info" error image

When swiping on a comment or something etc. with the swipe menus, you get haptic feedback for the initial action. If you then pull it further out until you get the second action, you’ll get haptic feedback again. But if you then retract it back to the first action, you won’t get another haptic feedback - but you should

there have been some discussions about a lower-contrast "grey" theme (as opposed to the "dark" mode). but that would come later. the idea is to focus on the content, not the app, itself.

Amazing update! Truly the best way to browse lemmy.

Just noticed that timestamps for comments are sometimes really off, depending on which instance I'm on. Is this sth you're aware of?

Hey, FYI I’ve got a bug that’s preventing me from using the app since the test flight got moved over. I can log in to a Lemmy instance, it says I logged in successfully, but then it says it failed to pull my profile data. I’ve sent feedback via test flight but figured I’d share it here too.

Looks like the comment timestamp is now just set to whatever the post is. Not sure if that’s an app bug or a lemmy bug.
