I think it might have been the twiggy sticks but fuck I'm letting them rip and little dog's taking the rap. I'll repay him in chips later on. He keeps licking the air. Lol

Something's definitely in the air, smells a bit off and headachey inside my friend's place. It IS horrifically dusty in this house anyway due to all the renovation works and piles of boxes everywhere, but there's another element to it tonight.

Luckily it's my last night here and it's delightfully warm, so it's been an opportune time for a rare cleanout/self care. Most of the place has gotten an airing and a vacuum and even (gasp) a mop. Gave the kitchen and various surfaces a good clean, washed various blankets and clothes, had a nice shower and chamomile tea, applied some heavenly body oil I got as a sample and did a session on the shakti mat & pillow, all I'm missing now is a live love laugh poster.

Put their itty bitty air purifier on, just waiting for the dryer to finish another round now and I'll probably be out like a light soon while desperately trying to finish this giant book (Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese) by tomorrow...

Did a bit of packing today too and the poor cat must've sensed it, she was being particularly needy and attention seeking today. 😿

HAWT DAWGs with jalapenos and coriander.

Tempted to put a few cherry blossom petals on too. I mean, now would be when you'd do that. in a few weeks one gust of wind and all gone!

If you have a Samsung smart TV there's a whole bunch of new channels on there including music channels such as vevo.

Disclaimer: I don't know how new they are we just discovered them today.

Ooooh, iOS 17 got some new ringtones and text tones. Cool. Dont know why I'm excited about that, my phone is never off silent.

Ugh. Accidentally napped in the evening.

Melbcat is feasting on a pumpkin baby food and springwater tuna snack. At least all the extra wet food is keeping her well hydrated and her bowels going.

Being creative is really hard. I’ve stalled on something I was drawing and constantly feel burned out. So many good ideas but sputtering empty tank noises

Thready little carrots have been coming up for the past few days, I can’t believe it. I was expecting them to be finicky. I’ve definitely sown them a bit too close together.

Edit: wait nah they’re good https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4xrXRBcKF3Q

Now I need to work out fertiliser that isn’t too high in nitrogen. I’d just get Seasol but Melbcat tries to drink it

I'm STILL not 100%. This bloody cough and intermittent voice is driving me insane. How much longer can this go on?!

[–] baconmash@aussie.zone 5 points 1 year ago (4 children)

I think I have what you have. Coughing harder than when I had covid.

God they blast the AC at work and it feels like I'm in Antarctica. Could feel the portable heater my boss had on when I came over to his desk.

Reconciliations (making sense of overpayments and underpayments...I work in health insurance) are shit

Lunch/dinner - long beans with vegan mince and one of my favourite asian condiments ever, "olive vegetable" - based off a recipe I've been wanting to try for ages. Maybe the mince/bean ratio is a bit off but it's delish nevertheless. The last dish I'll cook in my friend's wok and their nice hot burner. I'm kinda looking forward to going home now tbh, as much as it's been heavenly with the cat.

long beans cut in small sections stir fried with ginger, garlic, chilli and a fair whack of marinated vegan mince, glistening in a large wok
