I am trying to find a community I created on lemmy.tf but nothing shows up. I created it yesterday night. Community is called guineapigs@lemmy.tf

Could it be that lemmy.tf and lemmy.nz are not federated? Does it take time for a new community to populate to the different instances search.

It's showing up now, just search for guineapigs.

Due to the nature of federation, it can take a while for it to show up after someone searches for it the first time.

EDIT: here's a direct link for anyone who also wants to sub to it: /c/guineapigs@lemmy.tf

In the search box you need to put [!guineapigs@lemmy.tf](/c/guineapigs@lemmy.tf). Hit search and it could take about 10 seconds to find if your the first person on this instance to look for that community. If it still hasn't appeared then refresh the page and it should show up.

I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I put that in the communities search bar and waited a min but nothing showed up. David's direct link allowed me to subscribe to the community so thats good.

Ah you need to click the magnifying glass icon in the top right. That should take you to https://lemmy.nz/search which is different from the community tab search, that search box there is more like a filter.

Try the steps above again and see if you have more success.
