Hello!

I'm interested in hopefully one day moving to Colorado. However, it would depend on my partner finding a job down that way (he's a procurement analyst) so we've been looking. I figured since this sub exists, that I'd ask and see, are there any things one should know that would help with relocating to Colorado/after relocation?

Definitely want to look around Colorado Springs, Brighton, Thornton, Aurora, Lakewood, ft Collins, maybe even Canon city for the best chances to walk the line between "affordability" and employment opportunities.

High elevation = less oxygen, pace yourself and drink water.

High elevation = alcohol will fuck you up a lot quicker

Green Chile goes on everything, you'll learn and you'll love it.

4 wheel drive/all wheel drive does not equal 4 wheel stop. Inclement weather means turn on your headlights and drive slower.

We're closer to the sun, you will need sunblock.

Front and rear license plates are required.

The Denver airport is an unreasonable distance from Denver and no matter what time you go, there's going to be traffic. Just go to Union station in downtown Denver and ride the ~~free~~ $10.50 airport train to save yourself the hassle.

If you're hiking, stay on the trail and don't litter.

Seriously, turn on your headlights in bad or even not great weather. If you turn on your wipers, turn on your headlights.

If a red light camera gets you, ignore it. They're unenforceable nonsense and you won't get in trouble.

WOW This is perfect, thank you so so much!!! I'll note all of this down!

Depending on the city, the biggest hurdle people look at is cost of housing. But besides that, it's a great town to live in.
