On the plus side, I have to think Matalas is scribbling notes, letting ideas marinate, and will have a much more fleshed-out pitch to make when the time comes. It'd be better to not have the project rushed just to meet fan demand.

I hope Matalas can do the same in return towards SNW.
I agree that there’s a lot that could and should be adjusted in response to some of the genuine concerns raised about the nature of early 25th century Starfleet and the Federation we were presented it in the Picard series finale.
It might be a while folks. That's okay if it means the cast and crew get their fair share of the profits. They're the life and blood of the show.
