Funkwhale is worth checking out. It's a music/audio streaming service, similar to Soundcloud for example.

I have no experience with the commercial platforms, but good experience with Friendica (some say similar to Facebook) and Foundkey / Calckey (I wouldn't know that there is a commercial counterpart for this, is also microblogging like Mastodon, but with more characters and more features). Many also recommend Bookwyrm (similar to Goodreads, content can be imported) & Owncast (video streaming).

BookWyrm.social is nice if you’re a reader. It is a pretty good GoodReads replacement.

Facebook = Hubzilla / Friendica for similar additional features like photo albums, calendars, long text posts, and add-ons.
