How bad is the pay to win situation on this one ?

My goal is just to have a community where people can go and see what new game news is out for the day and comment on it. I don't want it to be purely discussion oriented either.

I've been playing for a week or so now and can happily report there are no pay-to-win features. There's a season pass coming soon which they've promised to be cosmetic-only, as well as an in-game shop which features cosmetic skin sets. The store is *very *overpriced, especially for cosmetics.
Neither I'm particularly thrilled about being in a $70 game, but I'm happy there's no pay-to-win (for now, anyway).
Good to know, thanks for the info
My issue is the level scaling. Feels like every fight has been the same difficulty the entire game and I never get stronger.
Casually played since the official launch day (no betas). Lvl 40 Sorc. I saw one upside though: friends level 10 can easily join your game (or the other way around) and gameplay will be roughly the same regardless of the level. Looks like enemies stats are equalized somehow.
However, there is a strong difference between solo play (where I can just teleport in, AoE all the things and the room is cleared) and a 4-party game where it takes everybody's skills to take out all the mobs. Difficulty seems to ramp up with the number of players in the party, not the level strangely enough...
Same here! I'm only level 34 at the moment, so hoping the end-game provides a bit of variety. I don't want to be stomping every mob into oblivion, but it'd be nice to notice a difference when I equip better gear/level up.
What class are you playing?
Currently playing a Rogue - it's what I played in the beta, but haven't got around to using something new yet. I'm following the 'Shadow Twisting Blades Leveling Rogue' build from d4builds.gg which is good fun.
It's forced always online is absolutely ridiculous and I've already read multiple negative effects of the system. Not to mention the cash shop and the $70 base price tag.
always online is a never buy for me, and has been for a long while.
Yeah, I'm glad I waited for reviews on this one, even though I've been looking forward to it for a long time.
I just don't want to support this sort of practice any more.
