If you don't know, in the original comic Calvin's dad said that before they open the bridge to the public, they drive progressively larger cars over it until the bridge crumbles under their weight. Then, they rebuild the bridge exactly as it was, and post the weight of the final car they tested the bridge with as the bridges load limit.
