I'm the same way now, I used to use reddit daily.
Now, I only use it when I have question, I still google "my question" reddit.

I don't scroll through reddit anymore but will use it if a friend shares a link or when looking for something. It was hard the first few days as I found myself opening Sync only to be greeted by the goodbye message. Safe to say I was quite addicted to doom scrolling but happy to have stopped.
Been using Jerboa for 2 weeks now and have not doom scrolled yet, feels good
I don't. I thought I would miss it a lot, but after replacing rif with lemmy and a few other apps I haven't really been thinking about reddit recently.
I only visit it from a search engine when searching for something. It's still a vast repository of useful content.
I have not gone to Reddit just to "use reddit" since discovering lemm.ee a couple weeks ago. Sometimes still end up on specific threads through search results, especially for obscure stuff on older video games.
I go there through Tedit sometimes when info I need comes up in a search, but I haven't logged in or browsed the site directly since the API protest blackout.
Weird how I seem to have more free time now. Must be a coincidence.
Only in read only mode.
Not completely, there are still some niche, non-technical communities that are probably never going to switch. I hope at some point they do, but still go once in a while to check. I donβt go daily like I used to, mostly do lemmy daily since the apps are getting so good now.
I do, but not nearly as much. Probably spend about half the time if not less then before Apollo went down. Opening up GitHub to check on Voyager updates probably as often as I am opening up Reddit.
Tech support searches sometime bring me back, but I haven't really been back otherwise since the boycott started.
I deleted my account around the start of the original blackout, and from then only really checked r/ModCoord & r/Save3rdPartyApps. These days I only really briefly pop into r/ModCoord to check for any updates on the situation.
I just recently got around to archiving posts of mine before deleting my account, so I literally have no ties other than those on the Wayback Machine.
Needless to say, I don't go back and I do my absolute best to avoid any and all links from it whenever possible.
Only to view NSFW images when I really don't have any other option. I don't have an account anymore though so usually it's not worth the trouble. Lemmy really just doesn't have the diversity reddit did with that yet.
Not since Boost stopped working
only if it has an answer to a problem I need an answer to, but I then turn around and leave the second I'm done.
Ima be honest, I deleted my reddit account before even creating this lemmy account
I have always lurked Reddit, I have never made an account. With Lemmy, I contribute instead of lurk as I feel I have a part to play in it's early growth for it to succeed. But that being said, I occasionally check the front page and a few specific subreddits but not quite as frequently since I joined Lemmy.
Oh, and when I do, I use LibReddit to view reddit, so nothing even official.
I have not used it since some time in early June.
I have technically logged into my account -- but only because I've opened Relay Pro. In spite of everything, it appears to still update everything, and the last app patch update message I saw said that they had implemented changes to reduce API usage (this after July 1).
But I haven't interacted with reddit beyond that, and I don't plan to. It's not about anger at reddit anymore either -- I actively like Lemmy better. It reminds me of old reddit.
Occasionally I use reddit to find answers to questions about topics that aren't really available on lemmy
I check in on my university subreddit from time to time but that's about it
No
reddit is a source of information. (fact).
but i logged out and will not be going back.
only when searching for minecraft modding stuff, although i don't have an account anymore
I only check my profile occasionally to see if I need to run the super deleter on it again.
Two subreddits that I check on occasion for information/memes, both of which I'm hoping will eventually gain traction here. I don't have an account though.
No
I don't use it any more. At most when people refer to something Reddit here, specially in c/snoocalypse, I check it then archive it then link the archive.
That said I don't blame people who still use it, even if I encourage people to not to.
I occasionally check https://reddit.com/r/artifexian which is the official community for a youtube channel and podcast that I like.
Other than that, I'm out.
I literally only use it to check if there's a new Chainsaw Man chapter out so I open r/ChainsawMan once every two weeks, that's about it
Nah, deleted that shit as soon as they announced the API.
I saw the writing on the wall.
Only if a Google search points me to an answer to a specific problem.
Nah. Iβm more casual, and didnβt even need it for specific information. I havenβt been back in weeks. Plus, I really like the more civil environment Iβve found on the instances Iβve joined. Additionally, the users are actually listened to, and the mods/devs are genuinely trying to create a better experience. Itβs something I want to be a part of, rather than the dumpster fire of greed, anger, and manipulation that is reddit.
Nah, sometimes google tries to make me enter but I just scroll a lil more and use any other result.
I slowed down when the announcement was made about third party apps. I quit entirely when RIF turned off. Now I participate here, started my own community, contribute to others as much as I can, and finally figured out how to host my own instance. It's been fun seeing it grow slowly.
I donβt have Apollo anymore so I donβt go to Reddit anymore from mobile, but i use it from time to time on desktop
Nope.
Sometimes I use Reddit to search up nonfiction book recommendations on r/books with searx.be (it automatically fetches you results on the old reddit website) because to be honest, it's pretty much one of the few places where I can find nonfiction recommendation for niche topics or just nonfiction readers in general (that isn't just about self-help books). Not only that, the users generally give a synopsis so it's easier to find what book you'd be interested in. But since Reddit made porn less accessible, my reddit usage dropped significantly.
@001100010010
I still have my account, but I dropped all the apps and am no longer logged in in any of my browsers. I also still have some reddit rss feeds
@asklemmy
I lurk with an ad blocker. I do still have an account and am logged in so I can vote and save some posts.
Only for my local city's subreddit. There's not a community with a lot of neighbors to find out and share local stuff with on Lemmy yet.
Nah, I created a Lemmy account at the start of June (at least the Jerboa installation date says that) and uninstalled boost a few days later. Only checked in on Reddit from time to time with libreddit, to have a look at the John Oliver party.
I deleted or mass-edited all my comments and sent an GDPR request. Only thing left after that is the account deletion.
Didn't want to give them any traffic anymore, so I avoided everything about it.
For porn yeah but not for anything else. Been away for as long as my lemmy account is old
I have reduced my usage by about 90%. The hockey community here is just not active enough for my hockey news needs.
I'm not using reddit as a daily driver, but I visit it when I'm looking for answers.
Nope, nothing proprietary on my watch.
Maybe 2 or 3 times a week. There's some support communities on there that I'm a part of and check in with on there.
But learning about Reddit's behaviour the last month or so has been something of an eye opener and for now I'm enjoying exploring here (and actually reading ebooks again) as an alternative
Same here. I'm not actively browsing or looking for information from Reddit, but if it's unavoidable, then so be it. I can't ignore the wealth of information still there.
