Well my camping/hiking trip has come to an abrupt end, looks like I've torn the upper part of my tibialis anterior (doc said its a grade two)... Lots of pain and waiting to see what the doctors want to do, but it looks like I will be couch bound for a while.

It didn't take long for old habits to rear their head - up till nearly 1am mashing through the final tranche of work, feeling totally disembodied and not present.

blah blah blah minor work rantBut then again, it's because I also spent several hours in the day on two separate catchups, one with a specific colleague who's also leaving this week (amazing, awesome, energising, life reaffirming chat)... and then one with the rest of the team which I really shouldn't have gone for even though it was specifically to say bye to leaving staff... It was kinda awkward especially as my boss basically cold shouldered me the entire time. Bruh. I got free food out of it though so alright then.

Another catchup today with a very dear person I haven't been in touch with for years, and then Friday is the "real" xmas sendoff with the whole business group. Literally only turning up on Friday because I want to say bye to the other director and I will be finally handing in my laptop, phone and office keys at the end of the day.

Even if I might need to crunch long hours later today so I can wrap everything up by Friday, it's the last time FOR REAL and I know I can choose not to reinstate bad mental and physical habits, and start rebuilding good ones in the days to come.

I was up nearly all night in pain. My watch says I got 1 hour and 52 minutes of sleep which sounds about right.

In brighter news, I've decided I want to end more group conversations with "you guys.. you're the real heroes"

I find if I have indigestion it's because I'm a little blocked up at the other end. Once I've released I'm as good as gold.

Anyway you're the real hero. 👍

Dreamed that I was living in Japan…. It was such a good feeling to be away from all the bullshit currently in my life. I’d love nothing more but to sell up and move away for a peaceful life. Japanese culture vibes with me, introvert, rules, respect, politeness etc.

Have a Tatts ticket for Saturday. Fingers crossed.

Based on the PetrolSpy app petrol is going up by a big margin at the moment - from 169.9 to 215.9. So if you have a station around with the lower price it would be a good idea to fill up.

[–] Duenan@aussie.zone 2 points 1 year ago

I saw that as I was coming back. Half the stations have gone up. A couple lagging behind still at a low price.

Just in time for Christmas holidays

[–] Duenan@aussie.zone 1 points 1 year ago

Gah. I’m out early to do some little shopping and I forgot the gift card to pay for it.

Blah!

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 1 points 1 year ago

First small win for the day, I just reconciled my credit card statement and there are no errors or forgotten payments. Good work me.

Despite the setback of not having the gift card I needed I have now procured some butterflies leg lamb, about a kilo’s worth.

This is going to my my Christmas dinner as I wanted to treat myself and I love lamb though I stopped buying it since it was so expensive.

Going to try and cook it in an airfryer later in the week. Pray for me.

Thanks., I get a feeling it’s not going to take long to cook in an airfryer though cooking that much might be a bit ambitious for one person.

I forgot to mention that it’s marinated in rosemary and garlic.

Must be the last work day of the year, eating a home made macaron for breakfast.

Chocolate, it was sooo good. Crunchy, fluffy, soft, perfect.
