Theres been a lot of really amazing looking animated films by indie studios in china but sadly some of them are exclusively available to chinese viewers via geoblocking. Anyone here able to download and share them?

These are anthologies with many indie studios making different episodes.

Here is the link that shows from the first seasons information https://www.catsuka.com/news/2022-09-20/capsules-project-omnibus-chinois-de-14-court-metrages-produit-par-bilibili-avec-des-studios-indes

Here's the link to the episodes on bilibili, my VPN doesn't have any China endpoint so they're blocked: https://www.bilibili.com/bangumi/play/ep748347

Had a look in my usual areas and found listings but no sources. Listings were only added recently though (11/30/23) so maybe international distribution is being organised.

I believe this is the entire first season for streaming:

You may have to wait a few minutes for the video to start, but it did play for me eventually.
Edit: Only 11 out of 14 episodes.

Thanks! Do you know of a way to download the videos from there? I want to archive them

[–] mal099@kbin.social 5 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I used the Video DownloadHelper plugin for Firefox, the same plugin exists for Chrome too and should work. I'm sure you can find some websites that let you simply paste the URL too and download the files that way, if you don't want to download a plugin.

Perfect thanks!

Can you not VPN into China or one of their territories?

[–] Pons_Aelius@kbin.social 9 points 11 months ago (1 children)

That might work. ProtonVPN has servers in HK

[–] Lumilias@pawb.social 6 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Tried from Mullvad’s exit nodes in HK and Singapore. Didn’t seem to work.

[–] nicetriangle@kbin.social 5 points 11 months ago

Didn't work for PIA either on their China endpoint either

Not a true answer, but I have found a number of Chinese shows on nyaa, si.

Why would anyone want to watch anything from china?

[–] bestusername@aussie.zone 3 points 11 months ago (1 children)

1 day old account, lots of negative posts, easy block.

Yeah i would prefer not interacting with snowflakes like you

Says the one who hates stuff outside of his comfort zone lol

[–] Aatube@kbin.social 1 points 11 months ago

There's lots of pretty people here sharing sotries and passing letters and

[–] vitamin@infosec.pub 2 points 11 months ago

Yeah, right. Put a downvote troll in a vacuum and they wither away and die. You need that negative energy because it's the only attention you get in your sad little life.

[–] nicetriangle@kbin.social 3 points 11 months ago

There's plenty to dislike their government for, but to write off all the artistic output of that country is just plain racist.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Bigot...

I would say hidden, particularly if the account is full of comments like this. Dude doesn't want to burn the real account, so is hiding under a 'troll' account

I can’t find any show with that name

[–] TwilightKiddy@programming.dev 2 points 11 months ago

No shit, they said "hidden".

Because it's from china doesn't mean anything though lol. So are our phones, clothes, bikes, car electronics, batteries, practically all electronics except hard drives etc.

Don't forget that there are talented individuals everywhere, regardless of whatever perceptions exist about their country of origin.

In this case, OP wants access to what they consider to be a good show, and that's that 🤷‍♂️🏴‍☠️

Don't feed the troll, obviously a 14 yo that discovered you could talk shit online without consequences...
