I'd love to see a dedicated photography community. not for posting photos but like camera gear, questions, news about photography etc.

not sure how we decide what communities get added/made.

There's nowhere to suggest new communities at the moment, but I'm sure there will be again at some point.

Last time it went like this: there was a thread soliciting new community ideas a while ago. The most popular suggestions were discussed by the admins and community mods, and any that didn't seem like they'd be a poor fit for beehaw were polled in the demographics & community survey that just wrapped up a while ago. Six of them got enough support to make sense as new communities: three have been added so far, and the other three will be added soon.

Expect the process to probably be a bit different next time as we continue to figure out the best way to handle all this.
