I can see how there would be some concerns about how to use it in an academic setting. And it does allow an easy way to cheat in some circumstances. But this just seems like fearmongering to me.
Did you read the article? I did not get a sense of fearmongering when reading it.
Sorry, I was commenting on the quote form Noam Chomsky, not specifically the article. I agree the article was well balanced and covered both sides decently. I should have been more specific.
