I was a Bluesky fan, until it was announced they took money from Bain Capital last week. They'll quickly be forced into monetization, and enshitification, thanks to their new corporate overlords. Who just happen to be one of the greasiest PE firms in existence.
Don't put your blinders on folks.
@GrindingGears @remington There are several attempts to get independent of Bluesky PBLLC. There is this initiative to raise money for an independent infrastructure and people are coding new implementations for the infrastructure that are less resource hungry.
Do you have any source regarding this? I'd love to read more about it and share it with my colleagues.
