I use RIF on mobile, and on the desktop, RES and
old.reddit.com
. Would have been blissfully unaware of this shitstorm had not for an announcement not just from RIF, but also from RES about their impending demise.I looked around to find alternatives, but since the ideals of the Fediverse appealed to me, and that I've already had a Mastodon account, I gravitated towards Lemmy.
To be fair, however, this is a pretty promising alternative (ignoring the political leanings of the devs and all).
I didn't know even RES is due next in the chopping block. RIP RES
Hindi na rin naman talaga under active development ang RES even before pa nung API price hike, so it was just a matter of time.
However, sa pagkakaala-ala ko sa announcement galing sa RES, affected rin sila ng API price spike. So, ayun, imbes na mamatay na lang sa kantandaan….
