From the article:

"According to an analysis released Friday by the television analytics company Antenna, the streaming giant posted four of its best days of U.S. acquisition ever with nearly 100,000 daily sign-ups on May 26 and May 27, a few days after it started to curb password sharing. It netted 73,000 new daily sign-ups on average after the crackdown, marking a 102 percent increase over the prior 60-day average. The ratio of sign-ups to cancels also increased, Antenna found, indicating that new subscriptions outpaced cancellations."

Emphasis mine

This is an old forgotten gem of a sci fi series from the 90's. Created by a couple of the X-Files writers it was unfortunately cut before a second season could be made.

Personally it is one of my favourite series and as it's here on YouTube I'd recommend it to everyone.

Premise 'Set in the years 2063–2064, the show focuses on the "Wildcards", members of the United States Marine Corps 58th Squadron of the Space Aviator Cavalry. They are stationed on the space carrier USS Saratoga, acting as both infantry and pilots of SA-43 Endo/Exo-Atmospheric Attack Jet ("Hammerhead") fighters, battling an invading force of extraterrestrials.'

So, I was looking for shows similar to GoT and found out about The Last Kingdom and Vikings. I saved Vikings for later because I heard that it becomes soap opera-ish in the last few seasons. I don't really like shallow characters even if the visuals or action scenes of a movie/show is great.

Edit: Also, if you have recommendations for other similar shows, do mention them!

Please mark book and show spoilers

I understand it's not the best sci Fi out, but when I was young City of Ember was a favorite book of mine and in Minecraft I loved underground structures. I love how Juliette is shrewd but imperfect, even frustrating. The show and books are getting different more each episode but in ways that add intrigue by fleshing out characters or hardly explored parts of the silo in each other.

I recently started buying movies on Vudu. I was struggling for a long time with whether or not I wanted to collect media on physical disks or digitally.

Right now that’s what I’m doing but there’s always the looming fear of anything I buy being taken away if the service gets shut down.

I’m curious how others keep their media collections. Are you a Blu-ray or 4k UHD collector? Do you use a digital service like Vudu or something similar?

Tell me your thoughts!

Illumination is an awful fit for Zelda and here’s why:

illumination can’t write complex stories, after Despicable Me 1 (which I’m not trying to imply is complex) they just stopped trying to write (good) character development or deeper themes or anything of that sort. The reason the Mario movie worked is cause Mario has such a simple story that you can get away with a movie that’s basically just fanservice with minimal plot, and I liked the Mario movie, but, my god, you just can’t do that with Zelda! There is so much more interesting lore and plot that happens in Zelda games than in Mario games that I don’t have faith in illumination to tackle. Also illumination’s artstyle does not work with most of Zelda’s artstyles! Illumination’s artstyle can’t replicate the dark art of twilight princess, or the ghibli inspired look of botw or totk, etc, Truly the only artstyle that could work with it is The Wind Waker’s but even thats a stretch. Now, I get why Nintendo chose Illumination again, cause they made them over a billion dollars last time, but almost any other studio would’ve been a better pick for Zelda and I just don’t see this movie being good with illumination at the helm.

TLDR: Zelda + Illumination = bad #

Whats a popular movie that you really dont like? And whats a little known or widely hated film that you love? Although there are bits of Saving Private Ryan that I really love (obviously the landing scene) I can never get past the plot. I just find it so outrageously dumb that so many people would sacrifice their life for one random guy. Whenever I mention the movie Dredd, people always think that Im talking about the Stallone movie. Dredd starring Karl Urban is an absolute masterpiece, but no one I know has ever heard of it.
