Someone else can explain it better than I can, but basically, because of the defederation, I can see posts here, as can both of you who posted today, but the actual !austin@lemmy.world cannot.

Essentially, this is a splinter group of only Beehaw users living here. The live posts on the other server don't populate here and vice versa.

Will we be alive when they are done?

Boy am I glad I no longer drive that part of Mopac in rush hour. Hopefully this will make some of y'alls lives better.

Last time I saw Death Grips in this town was at the Mohawk, and the entire crowd knew what they were there to see. I’m curious to observe the Mumford and Sons crew when they wander into the wrong side of the park and find themselves faced with brain melting levels of techno, drums, and screams. Anyone else have a prediction for how they will land with a more mainstream audience than usual?

They were mostly up north, but started peeking down late last night. Wondering if anyone got a little wet.

I wonder how this will affect people. Metal plate printing services for cars that can't pass inspection next?

Hopefully the many people that have been attacked in private and in the news finally get some justice. Hopefully Crysty and Ammon Covino get driven out of our community too.

Welcome to anyone coming from Reddit. I used the Austin subreddit a lot and didn't see anything here on Lemmy. I plan to drop reddit even if they do reverse their API pricing due to the way they treated the application developers and the community in general.
