Realistically, they would probably redesign an entire wing of a prison to house him, maybe even building one especially for him. He would never be in contact with another prisoner because they could never allow his physical safety to be in jeopardy for an instant. If a conviction didn’t already do it, his injury or death behind bars could start a civil war.

I know it would never happen, but just thinking about him getting 20+ years brings a smile to my face. It’s too bad that throwing him into a flaming bronze bull and sacrificing him to Baal isn’t an option.

I’m not cool with that at all. I am, however, cool with the idea of an affordable “Lemmy Gold” that can be awarded to posts for increased visibility, and that money could go towards sustaining the server. Private torrent sites cover their costs and then some easily with donations. There’s no reason that Lemmy couldn’t do the same as long as they don’t get obsessed with data collection and ad targeting.

It will get better quickly—there are people working around the clock on apps and improvements right now. This isn’t like your normal social media site where they can use seed money and advertising to buy the best infrastructure right off the bat. This is a grassroots effort to make something that can evolve into a unique and independent service.

If we all stick it out with alternative options like this right now, we will be looking at a much freer future for online communication later. If we get annoyed and go crawling back to the capitalist overlords at FB/Twitter/Reddit, then we give them everything they wanted in the first place, and the internet will take one more step towards being a walled garden casino of ideas.

And if it is possible to correct your vision with the camera lens, can the picture then be printed with the same clarity for the poor vision haver?

Last time I saw Death Grips in this town was at the Mohawk, and the entire crowd knew what they were there to see. I’m curious to observe the Mumford and Sons crew when they wander into the wrong side of the park and find themselves faced with brain melting levels of techno, drums, and screams. Anyone else have a prediction for how they will land with a more mainstream audience than usual?
