I need to use Adobe software too and I just installed a Windows 10 virtual machine on Ubuntu! It wasn't too hard to set up and (so far) Illustrator works decently well (though might be tough for more intensive programs)
Are you using a HDD? An SSD will make a world of a difference before an OS would. That being said, windows does accumulate bloatware over time. So if your storage is small and you can't replace it, might be worth giving Linux a try

Yeah I used pretty much the same mix the article wrote but switched out the paprika and cayenne for chipotle and ancho powders. Also added a bit more salt
