According to my doctor it also helps manage depression.
I think a lot of depression symptoms are literally caused by constantly living indoors and not walking every day. We eat crap and live under unmanageable amounts of constant stress.
I have been taking supplemental vitamin D for about a year and a half. It was prescribed because my levels were so low. I made a bunch of other quality-of-life improvements too, but I think getting enough vit D helped me to keep at it.
I never used to but my doctor recommended it a few years ago, and yeah, definitely helps.
