Seiko SRPE’s are really hard to beat when looking for an affordable GADA (go anywhere do anything). They are suitable for many styles.

How do you like it?? Looks great!

I only have a few watches. My first was the Citizen Bm8180, and my main squeeze is a Seiko SRPE55 (Dresskx). Both of those watches are black dialed, with both day and date complications. I knew I wanted a Boldr Venture for a beater, and I wanted a white dial for something different. The problem was the lack of date complication on the models I was looking at. Long story longer, I bought this white dialed, dateless watch and I hated it. I missed the date big time, and was having a hard time fitting the white watch into my wardrobe which almost always consists of a black base (shoes, belt, wallet etc). I initially didn’t like it on a black strap, but it’s growing on me. I bought the titanium bracelet also which works out pretty well.

On to the datelessness. I liked the other aspects of the watch, and wanted to give it a reasonable chance and thought, “Damn, is it really that hard to remember the date??” It was for a short period of time, but after intentionally focusing on the day and date for a moment each morning at work, I’ve found it’s not only quite easy to remember, but pretty rewarding. I always know the date now, immediately. No phone, no watch, it’s just become automatic. I feel a lot more connected to the calendar and can visual my crazy weeks by date better than ever. In a world where we outsource our entire brain to some sort of tech, it feels nice to tune in and get with the program. Thanks y’all.

It’s definitely up there, imo. A new customer of mine had one on the day I met him, I called it out from 10 yards away.

I have 4 sub $500 watches. I think 5 is the best number for me, but that would include starting over with the exception of my Seiko SRPE55 which is my daily. 3 black dials, 1 white and 1 blue.

My first watch!

I really wish Citizen would update this line with some new sizing, colors and materials. I don’t know what they’re thinking. They are way behind the curve. Period. They finally make a smaller pro master and then call it a women’s watch. Hello? Anybody home??
