The guy in the thumbnail is from the channel Esoterica. He seems to be one of the guests on this video and if you ever want a extremely well researched look into the history of the occult he's amazing. Also fun fact he almost got prosecuted as a teen as part of the Satanic Panic here in the US.

Personally I've totally stopped using Reddit. Now that the scroll bug is fixed on the instance I have my account on, there's no reason NOT to use this instead. Also it's nice to see that when you make a thread, that thread matters since it's not going to get lost in the mess of posts due to all the bots and karma farming. It feels more like your actually contributing to a community here.

Everything about this game was so good, and such a fantastic Lovecraftian creation. Also I absolutely loved the magic system in this game, I felt it was super unique, especially in video games.

I have never heard of Back-Up and it's really cool to hear about a non-English or Japanese Cyberpunk inspiration!

The original Deus Ex was one of the first cyberpunk games for me! Human Revolution was also a good game.

I still need to watch Stand Alone Complex, cause I loved Gits.

I didn't mention it but yeah Edgerunners hit SO hard and is also one of my favorites. It really showed the people on the outskirts being ground down by the system aspect of the genre. It also helps that it was an absolutely gorgeously made Anime.

Cyberpunk is my favorite genre of sci-fi, and I definitely found it via movies and TV, so I'm wondering what everyone's favorite pieces of media out there?

Some of my tops are of course the classics like Blade Runner, Akira, Robocop, and Dredd

I think one of the earliest reasons I fell in love with Cyberpunk was Batman Beyond. That theme song also totally deeply influenced my music taste.

What about yall?

This was my first real RPG. Played through it multiple times back when I was a kid, trying to find every secret. Can't wait to play it again. Also so happy to see Geno again, love that little guy so much.

Now that I'm home, here are links to all the artists I mentioned.

Industrial Cyberpunk suggestions

Nine Inch Nails - The Becoming

Author & Punisher - Nihil Strength (this one is cyberpunk in more ways than one, as he makes his own industrial instruments)

Skinny Puppy - I'mmortal

3TEETH - Atrophy

Ministry - Land of Rape and Honey

My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult - After the Flesh (The band and this song was featured in the Crow, which is where this video get's it's footage from.)

Lead Into Gold - Hard Won Decay

Venus In Aries - Justice

Gary Numan - My Name Is Ruin (if you want a real crazy contrast, this is the same guy who did https://youtu.be/Im3JzxlatUs. He's been doing music since like 1978 and after NIN became a thing, he went industrial and has a great catalog, 23 albums since 1978.)

Trip-Hop cyberpunk suggestions

Massive Attack - Risingson

Massive Attack - Angel

And as a bonus one of Massive Attacks members solo career Tricky - Evolution Revolution Love

Electronica/techno/EDM Cyberpunk suggestions

The Glitch Mob - I Need My Memory Back

Danger - 19:00 (He does mostly tracks without lyrics, which are amazing, but I love this track.)

The Prodigy - Firestarter

EBM (Electronic Body Music) Cyberpunk suggestions

Nitzer Ebb - Join in the Chant

Street Fever - La Corde

This is based off of Bootdsc's Virtuascope Cyberdeck! All the files to print the case are available at his site, and it's one of the coolest builds imo. Has a bit of a Commodore 64 vibe to it.
