When I was a little kid and went to a store with my father, the registry had a ton of small coins and I assumed the guy behind the counter was super rich, because my dad had 5 or 6 coins in his wallet, and the guy had hundreds of coins. When my dad asked for change, and got a bunch of coins, I assumed the man was very generous and donated his money to my dad.

Maybe we could get them converted to residential units so get cheaper housing.
Since I am having no problems with lemmy.one, I'll stay here, but thanks for the recommendation, maybe it will help someone else who is frustrated right now with their current instance performance.
Same. I use both lemmy.ml and lemmy.one. mostly use lemmy.one now since lemmy.ml is not loading properly for me, probably because of the massive influx of users into the same instance, overwhelming the server.
I find that for many niche topics, the communities are pretty empty and inactive, which was the reason I loved Reddit in the first place. Hopefully with more users it will become mainstream.
Well said. I'm going to use that line in the future.
These notifications are there so you will spend more time scrolling through their app, so they will occupy more of your limited mental space and social interactions, and serve you more ads/harvest more data about you to sell to info brokers and advertisrs.

Lawyer: Sorry.
Judge: Now write it a hundred times.
I don't have notification enabled on most of my apps. I will check on them when I want, but I hate seeing or hearing notifications because they are distracting me. If something is urgent, call me, otherwise it can wait.
One of the many reasons I am glad I don't own a car. Touchscreens are only useful for navigation stuff, everything else should be with physical buttons so you could operate it without looking away from the road for even a fraction of a second.
I've seen enough of his videos to know he is absolutely bonkers.
