Oofos have taken a beating and are still going strong after ~5 years. Are they truly BIFL? Maybe not. But pretty darn close.

Back in the day, this place was producing and selling some of the best value (buy-it-for-life) full grain leather belts. I've had several of their belts which have been worn daily for ~10 years now with plenty of life left in them.

It seems their website has been taken down and there hasn't been much activity since 2018/2019ish.

Did they go out of business?

Bizarrely enough, I also read rumors that the owners became heroin addicts or something, and this may be why the business went under. Anyone know the true story?

TOTK here. Actually bought a Switch JUST for this game. Did not disappoint at all.

Hello! Prior Reddit user here attempting to gain a better understanding of kbin and the Fediverse. Any feedback from more experienced users would be greatly appreciated regarding the following questions:

(1) Can someone explain exactly what an instance is?

(2) Is kbin.social a single "instance" hosted on a single server?

(3) How does one go about hosting or creating a new instance of kbin?

(4) What's the difference between Mastodon, Lemmy and kbin.social?

(5) If I've created an account on kbin.social, and kbin.social goes down or gets deleted, is my account also deleted from the Fediverse?

(6) Can user accounts be "ported" or "transferred" across instances?

(7) Does the content or Magazines created on one instance disappear if that instance goes down or gets deleted?

(8) If the answer to #7, above, is, "Yes", is there not a function or ability for other instances or sites within the Fediverse to constantly mirror or backup other instances?

(9) Do the threads I see posted on a Magazine hosted on kbin.social also appear in the same Magazine on Mastodon or other kbin instances?

Thanks in advance for any responses and answers!

Interesting. Good to know!

If it's not already in the works, I could see a lot of utility from adding a "favorited" or "saved" threads/comment option for users to better organize and access the content they want to as opposed to having to sift through what could end up being thousands upon thousands of upvotes.

Is there a way to save threads or save comments within kbin?
