I'm not straight, or a guy, but yes

[–] F0l11k@feddit.cl 4 points 1 year ago

Love your username lol

I've got a nonbinary friend who presents somewhat feminine, and they always say that anyone who finds them attractive is gay by default. So I guess what I'm saying is I'm not totally straight

[–] crystal@feddit.de 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Wouldn't finding an nb person attractive be hetero attraction? Since they're of a different gender?

[–] Taako_Tuesday@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I guess it depends how you define it, i feel like most people define hetero as being exclusively attracted to people of the opposite sex than you

[–] Squirrel@thelemmy.club 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

They're using the (Greek-derived) scientific definition of "hetero" (i.e. different) vs "homo" (i.e. same). By those definitions, any cisgender + non-binary pairing would technically be heterosexual.

Yeah I define myself as heterosexual cos I'm not attracted to people of the same gender as me. I'm not non-binary so being attracted to/sleeping with an enby person is not gay, at least according to how I define my own sexuality.

I like boobs and pussy

That's the definition of "straight guy" right?

[–] chumbalumber@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Not if you're a woman. Or if the boobs/pussy belong to a dude

[–] Aesthesiaphilia@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago

I always figured straight or gay is related to sex, not gender. So a pre-transition trans man or a post-transition trans woman would count

[–] Sneptaur@pawb.social 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Would you date a trans guy

[–] Aesthesiaphilia@kbin.social 12 points 1 year ago (1 children)

pre-transition? Sure

I don't like dicks though

And it would probably be difficult with me going "I love your boobs" and they're always like "I hate my boobs"

[–] Sneptaur@pawb.social 6 points 1 year ago (3 children)

That's so strange. You're just attracted to people's body parts?

[–] Aesthesiaphilia@kbin.social 12 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That's how it works for the vast majority of people.

Not like personality doesn't play a role. But certain body part combinations are a requirement.

[–] Sneptaur@pawb.social 4 points 1 year ago

Pretty weird

[–] SirElliott 10 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Is their preference really any more arbitrary than the preferences sapiosexuals or demisexuals have? It sounds like they probably have other traits that may make someone more or less attractive, they just have a minimum requirement for a certain body form for them to begin having attraction. That isn’t so different when compared to a sapiosexual who requires a high intellect before they can begin being more or less attracted based on other traits.

TL;DR: All preferences are weird, no need to call anyone out on their specific ones :)

[–] Nyla_Smokeyface 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Small clarification: Demisexuality isn't a preference. They don't feel any sexual attraction before an emotional connection is formed.

[–] TheOakTree 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Not OP, and not disagreeing with you, but I think it's also fair to point out that "having boobs and a vagina" isn't always preference for straight people either.

Some people are just hardwired to not feel sexual attraction unless the other person fits their needs, I think? Just like how most gay men don't feel sexual attraction to the aforementioned qualities.

[–] SirElliott 2 points 1 year ago

You're absolutely right, I inadvertently worded that as if I was reducing those sexual orientations down to being a preference like for a certain hair color. I should have said they have a requirement before sexual attraction can develop.

How do they do it on your planet?

[–] Sneptaur@pawb.social 4 points 1 year ago

I come from the planet of the ace, where nobody has sex and the masturbation doesn't matter

[–] argv_minus_one 3 points 1 year ago

Why not both?

[–] Pixelologist 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Bad bitches is the only thing that I like 🤷

[–] AnarchoYeasty 1 points 1 year ago

My ex really loved that song and thought it was so deep. She'd say shit like "I just love how he doesn't have a type you know? Like if your bad it doesn't matter" but I was just confused because a bad bitch is a type. And it wasn't her.
