Most full stack devs I've met are crap at one end or the other. I've also noticed a lot of el cheapo companies trying to get away with full stack only because having specialized devs costs them more money.

These companies would love to fire everyone and have DevOpsQAUxPmUiExec do everything instead.

Yeah I can do frontend stuff in a pinch and it'll mostly work but I wouldn't call myself a full-stack developer because I'd be taking the piss out of people actually doing frontend properly.

Me too. I'm pretty good at reverse engineering front end. I know how to do quite a bit and I write front end apps at home.

However, yeah, I'd definitely prefer the front end devs to do the work properly at my workplace.

Yeah but have you seen how well a duck can walk?

[–] vicfic@iusearchlinux.fyi 2 points 1 year ago

well, they can fly, so there's no need for walking 😉

It can run pretty fast despite having short legs.

I would've never looked for or found this community on reddit, but it showed up in my all feed here and these are actually really funny!

Birds can often swim. The fish also can't fly.

It must be a flying fish.
