Are there alternatives to platforms like youtube and twitch. (lemmy.fmhy.ml)

I do like watching videos on theses platforms but if your someone who wants to create gaming or random videos then youtube feels overcrowded. is there a less overcrowded, option to look into, and im still debating if i should watch videos or make videos as a hobby. you all got any tips or suggestions aswell by chance?

Peertube is a video and streming platform (like youtube) and owncast a streaming platform (like twitch) that are FOSS, self-hostable and connected to the Fediverse. Although I don't think getting any amount of viewers on those platforms will be any easier.

Is D-Tube still a thing? But i agree - the adoption rage is rather low
