If this has already been discussed ad nauseam, I apologize, but the number of “is this watch fake” post seems to be growing at an uncontrolled rate. Replica watches have an outright ban, yet people seem to have found a way to circumvent this rule by posting photos of replicas and posing it as a question as to if they are, in fact, fake. Some Reddit users have even speculated that many of these post are just scammers “testing the waters” to see if their replicas will pass the eye test. 95% of the time these watches are obviously fake, (i.e. if you have to ask, you already know the answer) and the number of these posts daily are simply cluttering up the timeline, in my opinion. There is already another sub r/isthiswatchfake (although only currently 7 members, lol) where I think these post should be directed to in the future.
It's a tough call. I hate 90% of the posts on this sub - authentication, size check, recommendations, etc. - but I'm still here, and honestly probably one of the top folks. Guess I'm addicted, ha. It's easy enough to downvote a post and move on, but actually moderating all these posts would be difficult. One suggestion that worked for me is to use the Reddit Enhancement Suite plugin to at least filter out any titles containing the words identify, fake, recommend, real, authentic, size, etc. That gets rid of a lot of junk.
