MODERATORS

I like to see kids related stuff, but I always hesitate to show anything I find there to my little daughter because the community is called 'kidsarefuckingstupid'. I know that's a tongue in cheek name, but I would like to see communities like /c/kidsbeingkids , /c/kidsbeingsmart, /c/kidsbeingderps, etc. I'm not a prude, but I would like to be able to share stuff without looking like I hate kids. I can help moderate the community(ies).

I don't think you have much to worry about on the beehaw communities; this instance tends to air more on the positive side, and its baked into the DNA of the instance.

That said, there's only so much that can be done on the other instances since, by design, they own the content for the communities they host. The only thing that can be done there is to request the instance to be defederated or to block the communities explicitly.

How do I get these communities created?

You simply need to suggest it (although I'm not sure of the exact mechanism). The Admins are monitoring these suggestions and will create them based on interest. You can see that several were added not too long ago in this post: https://beehaw.org/post/452326
