Why is capitalism perfectly functional within regions of open borders but would not function within a larger region of open/no borders?
Do you have a response to the concept of practical borders applying whether or not there are legal borders?

That sucks, but it's not responsive to my argument.
Just not true
About 1.7 million people commute to work across a European border each day, and in some regions these people constitute up to a third of the workforce. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schengen_Area?wprov=sfla1
Schengen zone, and to a lesser extent USA, show that capitalism can continue to function with a free movement of labor within relatively large and varied economic zones. This would continue to be the case worldwide, I believe. There remains significant barriers to movement even without borders: time, money, separation from family and cultural support systems, and more. There are people in the US and EU who want to "escape" their current state/country due to local laws but cannot do so despite it being perfectly legal to do so.
The horrible AI slop looks so bad if you look at it for longer than a second. Do better yall.
God dammit Mazda, you were supposed to be one of the good ones!
Sounds like copium to me. The neolibs have really figured out how to placate the masses. Things aren't bad enough and the media keeps the majority unaware.
I get why ISP provided routers and some brands of mesh router would collect and sell data but what is it about "mesh" that is particularly bad here? I have a cheap TP Link router that is apparently mesh compatible but it seems like a traditional router in all the other way. Should I be concerned?

Unfortunately we have to do both. We need big industry to reduce but we also need a massive change in our behaviors. Industry must be forced to make these changes because they are purely profit driven and don't take into account 2nd order costs of their actions. People can make choices to improve their personal impact on the environment, and every little bit counts.
For example, if everyone who can uses more public and active transportation, then that leaves more capacity for those who can't. Making less cars is better than making more EVs. Personal transport is a significant source of pollution even if it's not close to the biggest.
Fair. Logs are natural unless otherwise specified. You wouldn't put log(37) if you wanted base 10, you'd do log_10(37).
Risky strategy because it is probably either a luck of the draw scenario or the prosecutor (is that how they're called in Canada?) deciding which cases have the lowest chance of winning on trial.
If Canada is anything like the US, most criminal cases never make it to trial and the judge is only involved to approve a plea deal. If every criminal case went to trial it would overwhelm the courts.
More like a steam turbine (which is way cooler cause it's like a jet engine). Steam engine makes me think of a piston engine like on a train.
