Thank you for your answer, but this is a bike and pedestrian path. It's not meant for cars.
Springtime
These speedbumps are on a bike and pedestrian path. There shouldn't be any cars.
Thank you!
I've sent them an email to inquire about the purpose of these speedbumps and why there are so many of them.
This really seems to be ridiculous.
You can cross post to different communities via the two double/overlapping squares that appear under the headline of your original post.
- Create and post original post in community A
- Go to your posting and click on the two overlapping squares under the headline of your original post. Title, text, body. will be automatically filled in.
- Choose community B in the drop down menu you want to cross post to and publish it.
- Repeat steps 1-3 for additional cross postings to other communities.
There will be a remark and link to all cross posted posts/communities the same URL has been posted to.
Hope, this helps :)
Vancouver Chinatown is the second (or third) oldest Chinatown in North America after San Francisco (and maybe Victoria). Beside of the Chinese community living there since generations, it is a popular tourist attraction and a unique neighbourhood its own character that you can't find in Richmond (or anywhere else in VGA) in this form.
IMO, it would be a shame to stamp out this uniqueness and replace it with the same style of glass and steel towers with the same style and look that you can find anywhere else. There are ways to build up and provide more living space, while retaining the character at street level if must be.
I love this tree. It's so beautiful. Seeing it from a boat at the cliffs of a coastline makes for such a gorgeous and unusual view.
Thank you so much for looking into this! You must be swamped with all of us newbies here on lemmy.ca.
If it's a general Lemmy federation issue. Do you have any guess, if the issue can be resolved at some point? (I'm aware, it might not necessarily be at the top of anybody's priority list with all the influx happening right now.)
I doubt that it's defederated because of the bot count. I ran into the issue (Lemmy.ca <-> Lemmy.world) already well before the bot invasion
The list says non-comprehensive, but with an instance as large as lemmy.world, you'd expect it to be listed, if it would be defederated. Plus Lemmy.world is still listed on linked instances.
There must be a different reason for the poor synchronization between the two instances
Edit: See comment further down. Smorks is aware of the issue and will look into it.
Yes, it's there now. When I had typed in the community name, it wasn't able to find it. Thank you for your answer! I wouldn't have checked again and this clears up some things for me.
It looks like there's the same mechanism as in the the regular community search:
(Just writing this out for people who haven't run into this yet)
When you are the first (few) one(s) looking for a community that is not linked to your instance yet, it won't show up in your search. However, if you or others have searched for it several times, it'll show up in the community list. It looks like the communities listed in the drop down menu for cross posting follows the same algorithm.
Yes, it makes me worry about future expansions of bike lanes.
Over the last decade or so the city has expanded a network of new bike lanes, making biking saver and more attractive. I'm wondering, if this roll-back and the celebration of it shoes a new trend away from new bikelanes.
It's an absolute shame they're removing the bike lane in Stanley Park. Such an unnecessary move.
Done! I've contacted them as well. At least via an online form that I had been linked to.
