I tell my patients that it's important to remember that in the US, Health Insurance Companies exist to deny you health care.

Health Insurance is run by publicly traded companies, which always have to make more and more money every year, which is why insurance seems to always get worse.

I haven't used these bags in like 5 years, and I usually shop after I get out of work, so I'm not usually around others. I saw someone using one last week and I kinda did a double take cuz I forgot they were a thing.

Hope they get banned everywhere.

There are many many reasons.... and everyone replying to you is talking about them all

1. a "better" candidate by most academic standards is more likely to be wealthy and, in the US, that means more likely to be White. Simply put, White people have more generational wealth, which makes them more able to participate in extracurriculars, more time to study, less general stress.

2. If a college wants to create a more holistic education than just academic, it benefits them to have a diverse student body. The more diverse the student body, the more tolerant and open minded your graduates will be. They'll be more open to listening to people that don't look like them, and society will be better for it.

and then there's 3) The elite in this country have always been and thus have been biased towards Straight White Men. Without guardrails in place, they will select more Straight White Men, and we will regress.

My favorite part of the audio is when he calls for someone to bring them all some cokes. I forgot that he drinks like a dozen a day and it was very weird hearing him call for soda while he commits a felony.

My friends used to ask me why I pirate shows that are on common streaming services and now I can point out some of the shows that are disappearing completely.
