Bboi has arrived and is a fan of native grass.

Majestic little lion

He looks remarkably sinister in this photo. Not walking, stalking through the undergrowth.

He’s a fearsome Burmese tiger and you don’t have long for this world

2 resignations from my team this week. As a result our efficiency will go up and toxicity will go down.

Love it when dead weight decides to fuck off quietly.

I'm staying with some boomer family friends because they're generally okay but oh dear lord sitting around with channel 7 in the evening makes me want to scoop my ears and eyeballs out. At least it's not Sky ... And at least I'm going out for dinner.

Someone I spoke to infrequently messaged me out of the blue on discord the other day seeking a 'second opinion'.

'Here we go' I think. 'This should be good.'

Them: Do you think it's a good idea to travel to another country to visit a boy who just blocked me on discord?

'Good' wasn't even in the same universe as how insane that question was.

You might need to explain the definition of stalker to them.

Neighbours downstairs are playing some gold - video killed the radio star and great southern land so far. Loving it on a night like this.

Plus, I get to wfh tomorrow and Friday, and I feel really good knowing they trust me. They listen to my calls and I've taken on all feedback. I feel really lucky, that they liked me and continue to do so; it's wild having my skills validated and praised - I never saw that in the big call centres I was at previously.

Knock on wood for meee 💜

[–] Duenan@aussie.zone 8 points 1 year ago

It’s great that they’ve acknowledged your skills and value them.

You always had the skills and knowledge and I’m glad to hear they’re appreciating them finally.

You deserve to feel valued.

I keep taking Melbourne's tap water for granted until I go drink unfiltered tap water in places like Brisbane and ugh. You really do forget about it when you're drinking it every day, much like fish don't see water.

Ah man… you ever find yourself rubbed the wrong way by someone and have to question whether you’re being petty? I’ve thought about it for a little though and it’s legit. Might just avoid that one.

I'm just gonna drop a few words of what I consider to be wisdom.

Soaker hoses are shit, they fail. Just do the brown dripper stuff.

"hey I had a message on my computer" ok cool what does it say? "I didnt read it sorry" Okayyyy... want to share your screen? "Sorry, I already closed it" Cool, well I dont really know what you're looking for here? "I want to know what it was" Try reading it next time. Bye.

Another stress filled depressive day.

My body can feel the stress.

I hate what my life has become.

Going to make myself better by eating roast potatoes.

[–] dumblederp@aussie.zone 9 points 1 year ago

Potato therapy is legit self-care.

Train replacement bus missed the connecting train it was replacing. A 90 minute journey has now become a two hour journey, because the replacement bus missed its train by less than a minute. I saw it leaving, going straight past the bus.

Why the fuck aren't the trains required to wait for their connecting buses? It's the bare fucking minimum, and yet we can't even get that right.

$10 a day...PTV needs to be renationalised. This hybrid bullshit wastes time, money, and puts people in unsafe situations because no one bothered to schedule appropriate numbers of connections, causing half hour waits in unsafe parts of town. Not okay.

So ready for a long weekend. This stretch of no public holidays between King’s Birthday and Grand Final Friday is nasty.

Nothing like being woken up with planks of wood being thrown on the ground, rattling of a cage and a fucking power tool or two.

Charge out naked and show dominance

I've sent the dog out to constantly bark because he loves power tools.

What on earth do you wear to a christening?

[–] TinyBreak@aussie.zone 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Dress up as Jesus. Bring a giant cross. Shows the family you take it seriously.

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 7 points 1 year ago

slam dunk the baby into the font and scream THOU ART SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVED

[–] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 8 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Chinos, button up shirt, dress shoes.

How close are you with the parents? Distant relatives, less formal. Close family and friends, more formal.

The latex bodysuit is entirely inappropriate. Work backwards from there.

church clothes. Neat casual, on the slightly fancier side. Think a restaurant dinner with grandma for her 80th.

I am really struggling to research for a uni assignment and actually find gaps in the literature that are actually relevant. I am annoyed and sleepy. Everything is just going in circles.

So my plan is just to write shit and learn from the feedback (attempt to at least)

I wanted to be cut out for academia but I don't think I will ever have the critical thinking skills :(

Yay fixed mindset

I am pained to report that a cooker party will be occurring late this afternoon in the vicinity of Parliament House. It sounds like booze and music will be involved. God help us.

My amber pendant I bought from Ukraine came today. I try to help the people of Ukraine by giving to charities and also buying from individuals over the net.

The pendant is very beautiful so of course I now feel guilty, what if they didn't want to sell but had to. Am I profiting from misery. It was USD $40 all up so not too cheap but still cheap.

spoiler

[–] SituationCake@aussie.zone 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I believe amber is not uncommon in the region, so unless it was a special personal piece, it was probably made for sale. To complicate it, unfortunately illegal amber mining also exists. It’s so hard to know how effective our help is. All we can do is try to do what we think is right. I think you did a good thing!

Perhaps, the money is needed more than the trinket. You could keep it, and when the war is over you can contact the seller to post it back (if it was important to them of course)

It's very beautiful

It's probably the rejection sensitivity disorder. But I hate when I fuck up. Not massively, but it's a fuck up.

[–] just_kitten@aussie.zone 7 points 1 year ago

It's warm here in Brissy (no surprise), but such a lovely, laid back break from Melbourne where I'm staying. Drivers are insane though.

[–] oztrin@aussie.zone 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Had a stickybeak when I brought the bins out. The house next door is on the sodding great truck that's been parked out in the street the last few days.
They said they'd do a doorknock to let us know when it was going to be moved, but I wouldn't be surprised if it goes tonight regardless. Mind you, the angle it's parked they're either going to have to go the wrong way up the service rd, do a lot of careful turning, or drive over the median strip.
I shall keep you updated ~~though I'm probably the only one interested~~.

Exercises completed this morning before a trip to Highpoint to pick up my new phone. Thankyou to those who suggested I get a power bank, as I grabbed one of those while I was there for travel use. It will extend the life of my phone a little, and I can put away the phone I got at a discount price for when this phone becomes truly intolerable. Now just relaxing and resting my aching feet.. I always forget just how big Highpoint really is!
