Just came here from reddit, making my first post. I played NMS last year for about 40hrs then kind of lost interest. Starfield looks a lot like NMS, but with a lot more content and action. Is anyone going to be trying it out?

The pitch for Starfield seems to be Mass Effect inside an NMS-sized world. If they can pull it off, count me in. Assuming my system specs are up to the challenge.

I'm cautiously optimistic gonna wait for reviews but knowin my dumbass I'll end up buying it no matter what because its bethesda.

Hope leads me to excitement for this game.

Historical precedence reminds me that it will be over-hyped and under-delivered.

I will say, the detailed demo they gave during the Xbox showcase was impressive.

Yep, built a beast PC specifically to play NMS, gotta feed it some new meat at some point

Hell yeah! I'd love to play No Man's Skyrim

Yep. Can't help it, I'm a sucker for a Bethesda game, warts and all. Also, it's coming to Game Pass day one, so nothing to lose really if you're already a subscriber.

I imagine it's going to be more hand crafted and story driven, like the Elder Scrolls or Fallout, rather than the more procedural discovery focused approach of NMS.

It's coming to gamepass, so it's an easy yes for me

Then I'll definitely be playing it. Didn't realize it'll be on gamepass, and I have it for Wondows. Niiiiice!

I'll wait a few weeks to see the user reviews and find out if it's buggy, but I definitely plan to try it.

I'll definitely be waiting for the reviews to come in and settle, but assuming it's a solid game I'll probably give it a shot being a big fan of Fallout and Elder Scrolls. I've got such a backlog, though, it likely won't be any time soon.

I'm on PS5 so... no lol. But after Fallout 4 and 76 I'd be very hesitant anyway

Also, Microsoft boasting it will be a 'bethesda game with the least amount of bugs' has me rollin'.

Yeah, once it goes on sale.

Yep! I'll be adding Starfield to my rotation. It may or may not become my main game for a while. It all depends on how good and interesting it will be. So far, I like what I see!

I'm waiting to see what stance Bethesda takes on mods first. No Bethesda game is complete without mods, and if they force mtx for mods, then I don't think I'll buy it personally.

I've moved towards caring more about the conditions under which a game was made, and knowing Bethesda's pattern of underpaying and overworking its studios, I won't be trying Starfield it. Learning about Redfall kind of put the nail in the coffin of me buying any games that aren't mainline TES.

NMS has two big advantages: one is that Hello Games is an indie studio with a good reputation, and the people continuing to work on NMS are doing so because they believe in the game. Two is, much more selfishly, that it's an amazing VR game, something Starfield doesn't have (and likely won't for a while, given how Skyrim VR and FO4VR worked out).

Absolutely.
