That's not how it works though. The awards are money already given to Reddit. It doesn't matter if you use them or not.

If you don't want to give Reddit money, cancel your subscription and use an ad-blocker.

Yeah if someone is leaving reddit, makes sense they'd want to use up any coins they have left.

Never had premium myself so I wasnt aware that folks might have those awards laying around. Well then I guess at least it gives interaction!

Iirc, there’s a ton of free awards you get just by using new Reddit. So they probably got the rewards that way.

Not sure why people make posts like that. Anyone pissed at reddit isn't pulling out their credit card. Obviously if you make a post to not buy awards people are going to give it as many awards as possible to try and be funny.
