Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

A terminal that uses Electron? Hah, no...not a chance. I'll stick with wezterm.
First time I read about it, what's great about it? I currently use a combo of alacritty and tmux and aside for a thing or two I could configure better I love it.
Not OP.
Wezterm can offload a lot onto a GPU which makes it a bit snappier. It also has built-in support for displaying graphics via SIXEL.
It's my go-to terminal emulator for anything Wayland. Alacritty seems to have been abandoned, sadly.
