Er der nogen, der ved, hvorfor de danske fortove ser ud som de gør? Hvorfor er det to (eller flere) cementplader med kampesten imellem? Er det ren æstetik eller er der nogle praktiske grunde?

Baby carriages go on the cobble-stone if you want the baby to sleep. Every parent knows this :)
How come you think it's weird? 😄 granted, it's a random pic I grabbed off a quick internet search, but this type of sidewalk is pretty common where I live. Is it because they're not that common in your town? But yes, I also thought it had something to do with accommodating people when walking. It just seems odd that the cobblestone is somehow necessary for that? Why not just put the two cement slabs side by side?
