I always thought the GameCube controller was ridiculously comfortable and ergonomic, so that's my choice. The C stick might not be for everyone though.

Any Dreamcast fans here? Those controllers had similar ergonomics in the hand, although the lack of a second analog stick was a pretty big drawback in hindsight.

Does anyone else feel weird about the vast amounts of computing resources seemingly being wasted on generative AI services like Copilot? It might be different if this was something that could run locally without requiring an internet connection, but clearly we aren't there yet. Copilot specifically reminds me too much of Siri from iOS 5, and it's often really slow compared to competing services.

Sucks that this will inevitably become more common, but hopefully it'll be easy enough to remap to something useful.

$2000 should get you something pretty nice. Do you have anything specific in mind that you're planning to do with it? Important stuff to keep in mind up front, in no particular order: do you play games? How big should the screen be? How long do you want to use it on battery? Any operating system preferences?

Memory is a funny thing, don't beat yourself up over it. Every time you remember something, the memory itself is altered in your mind. We know now that you didn't have a 7600X, but I think it can also be true that you remembered buying one.

Do whichever lets your thoughts flow more freely. I type because I don’t have to think about how to do it, whereas handwriting takes a lot of extra brainpower since I do it so infrequently. There’s no wrong answer though!

I thought the name was cool, and I liked that it was a relatively smaller instance. I tried a few other instances just for the sake of shopping around, but Lemmy.zip just seems nice. Admins are cool, too.

Anyone out there remember the Megadeth forums back in the mid 2000s? I met a lot of amazing people through that site.

I generally agree about notifications being a little better on Android, but I think I've used iOS for long enough that I've made it work for me regardless. On iOS, I've found that the best way to see when an app needs your attention is to be very intentional about which ones get notification badges, and make sure those apps are visible on your first home screen and/or dock.

Once that's set up, you probably won't need notification center as much, or you might only check it when you see a badge on an app you care about. I'd still love to see a couple more options (maybe utilizing the dynamic island?), but this gets the job done.

I’m sure that’s a relief for many, but I bet there’s still going to be a pretty serious day one patch to download. Also, do we know if the game will actually work offline?

It really is pretty good, especially after 0.18. It’ll obviously be great when high quality apps are available, but the mobile experience is already good enough for being completely free.

Melee kills won't proc either of those, but that hasn't mattered much in my experience (at least when using my Osmiomancy build). However, the Extrovert origin trait does proc from melee kills after a patch a few seasons back, so you do get a nice boost to survivability when dealing with lots of enemies.

I won't go into all the details unless you're interested, but the way my Osmiomancy build plays, Demolitionist primarily works as an easy way to reload, with the secondary function of helping me get my grenade back if I completely whiff a throw. Otherwise, I prioritize throwing Coldsnap grenades directly at the largest targets I can find to refund the most grenade energy possible. You should pretty much be able to throw grenades as often as you want (assuming there are enemies to freeze), and it's unbelievably satisfying to shatter a huge group with a glaive melee.

Also of note, Demolitionist on glaives got buffed this season, so even without the enhanced version of the perk, you should be getting 20% of your grenade back for every kill.

Thanks for posting! I'm also curious what direction the community will take when it comes to automations and daily/weekly threads for stuff like resets, TWID posts, and so on.
