I truly dont understand the "everything is a bullet sponge" argument.

I havent skilled any combat related skills and I am doing just fine in combat. Also I dont expect enemies in an RPG to get down in a single shot. Especially when they are armored like tanks or some weird giant alien creature. People have weird expectations tbh.

Dont worry, time flies and there are lots of cool games to play in the meantime :)

How is Twitter a bad name? I immediately get the imagine of birds tweeting at each other which is exactly how twitter works, only that birds would probably say less stupid shit.

Maybe Mastodon can be renamed to Twitter?

Because lets be real, "Mastodon" isn't that much better of a name than "X"

Lmao I hope in a couple of years someone just takes the twitter branding and rebuilds it.

Not that I am a fan of twitter, may that plattform burn in hell, but just to shove it into Musks face.

I had more of a crush on Kim herself.

I dont think so, like I stated in the post on the subreddit, they probably won't even notice the change unless they use third party apps or a new game gets announced (which will result in more spam in the subreddit)

I am not sure if longterm reddit will be hurt at all because its userbase is fucking huge. No idea if Lemmy will ever be able to compete with that.

So I did not check that instance, but is its content like literally exploding heads?

Displeased with the changes Reddit is going to make to the API from July 1st 2023 onwards, we decided to create a new community here on Lemmy. We won’t close down the Subreddit, however as most of us are mainly browsing and moderating Reddit from 3rd party apps, we will spend significantly less time over there.

While we are not entirely conviced that Lemmy can be a proper replacement for Reddit, we are willing to give it a try as it’s currently the most promising alternative.

I created two accounts on two different instances and all the communities I see have different subscriber counts depending from which account I look. Why does that happen and how can I see the real subscriber count?

Is it me or is it kind of sad that we seem to enter an era of non-descriptive platform names?

Like, what is a Mastodon? Twitter was a cool name. Tweets on Twitter, that just sounded right. It's definitely not the name that caused the platforms downfall... Facebook, MySpace, Reddit, Snpachat, Tumblr, Twitter, Youtube - I like creative but descriptive names for platforms. Now we have Tiktok, Mastodon, Lemmy and stuff like that. Meh.

I'd love to propose something like aboves picture as new instance icon - to make it more "lemmy-like" Maybe not my exact picture, which I put quickly together in photoshop, but maybe someone could smooth it out or make something similar to this.
