Interesting that native plants don't favour native bees over European bees. I planted all natives in my garden because I thought I was promoting growth of the native population!
Common misconception, I suppose.
I wish there was some viable control method we could set up at home.

How is she doing on bakeoff? I remember back when she was on Talking About Your Generation, she seemed pretty quiet and nervous almost? Unless they just cut all her banter when editing the episode, which is likely too...

That's a bloody outrage, that is. I'm gonna take this all the way to the Prime Minister!

A lot of people on kbin are here because we don't support reddit anymore, and we are especially displeased with spez holding decades-worth of accumulated knowledge and content for ransom.
Even if they're questions which could be easily found on reddit or with a Google search, I think it's a good idea to ask them here (and on other instances) anyway. It will give those who are boycotting reddit a new space to search for answers, it will foster more content creation on kbin, and it will decentralise the combined niche knowledge and expertise of all netizens, so that it is less likely to be lost or held hostage again.

I think it's also a good starting point for anyone who is usually a lurker, but would like to create quality content here to promote community growth. Ask a question you could easily search (or maybe one you already know the answer to?)
We can come together as a community to ask and answer those questions, rather than each user trying to single-handedly create valuable content from scratch, which is much more daunting.

I understand that it's frustrating, but I'd like to suggest that we be the bigger people about it.

For every user in the vocal minority saying those things, there are plenty of users who will see kbin and lemmy mentioned more and more, and get curious.

If we start getting a "leavers vs stayers" mentality over here, we might drive away those people who could grow our communities.

Be relentlessly positive about our new home, and we will thrive in the end.

I think we're all mourning the loss of community and information found on reddit. Being angry that spez has forced protesters into the position to dismantle these communities is a legitimate and understandable reaction.

I don't see in the above comment that this person is spez-friendly or getting angry at the protesters specifically, just acknowledging that the whole thing sucks for everyone.

Funny how r/blind saw this coming from a mile away

There were a lot of attention-seeking people on reddit who weren't necessarily trying to get karma. It just happened that karma was the measure of the attention you were getting, so being a "karmawhore" was a side effect of wanting attention.
