I would greatly appreciate if anyone could participate in the survey I created for my research about fediverse . it won't take much time and it is hosted on privacy friendly service, cryptpad . all responses are anonymized. You don't have to answer all questions. Fill as much you can and submit when you had enough.

What's the purpose of your research? Curiosity? A student thesis? A professional paper? Are you a dev actively working on improving the fediverse?

[โ€“] gplwpu@lemmy.ml 6 points 11 months ago

It is just a literature review of fediverse. But I just wanted to include some suggesions of the users. Thank you for your support

Would you mind sharing the results later? (Iโ€™d love to get dmโ€™ed then)

For sure. Thank you for the support

Love the idea, but you should really ask someone who actually speaks english to check the whole questionnaire. It's filled with spelling and grammatical errors.

My apologies. Actually it was more of a last minute work. I am almost at the deadline. I did not believe I could get support from people who don't know me. So I did not had an idea to do a survey. But eventually it already got 10 responses by now. thank you so much everyone

I got it to work just fine from my android phone. Cheers and good luck with your research!

Thank you for the support

It worked for me, but I think there may be an issue with question 4. I used Firefox btw, but it did take a little while to load.

Good luck with your research

Thank you so much

Survey isn't very mobile friendly, couldn't fill out the user experience questions so I gave up

[โ€“] gplwpu@lemmy.ml 4 points 11 months ago

I'm sorry. I had to use something else rather than google forum cuz many don't like to give information to google

[โ€“] jbk@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 11 months ago

I also couldn't until I turned my phone to landscape mode.

What a weird site and a weird set of questions. First I was asked if I use centralized social media services and I said no, and later I was asked about what I like about centralized social media services.

Survey research is hard -- especially when you are a student learning to do it.

[โ€“] em2@lemmy.ml 7 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I understood it differently. Although I don't use it, I know it exists and it does have an upside (or at least, it used to).

[โ€“] 30p87@feddit.de 4 points 11 months ago (1 children)

It has a little bit more uptime and more users. Other than that, they're shit.

[โ€“] em2@lemmy.ml 2 points 11 months ago

Wholeheartedly agree

[โ€“] gplwpu@lemmy.ml 2 points 11 months ago

Sorry. My first time with CryptPad. I had to use it because people here won't like google forums

[โ€“] Pantherina@feddit.de 5 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Please use a share link, this one does not work

[โ€“] IzzyData@lemmy.ml 4 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I can't seem to get it to work.

[โ€“] online@lemmy.ml 4 points 11 months ago (1 children)

To people who say the link won't work: I opened a private window in Firefox and it worked for me.

[โ€“] gplwpu@lemmy.ml 2 points 11 months ago

Yes. I corrected it later

[โ€“] HerbalGamer@lemm.ee 2 points 11 months ago (2 children)

I got an error on the link.

[โ€“] gplwpu@lemmy.ml 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I checked it now. It is working

[โ€“] HerbalGamer@lemm.ee 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

not for me but that might be due to being on Opera

[โ€“] gplwpu@lemmy.ml 1 points 11 months ago

maybe. Looks like choosing cryptpad for creating the forum was not a good idea

I think such surveys should elaborate on terms they're using.

For instance:

What is the app? Is the Mastodon's standard web app included in the set of apps or are you referring to mobile and desktop apps?

What is the user experience? Is it related to how I interact with the service through its features (and thus follows my satisfaction level with the app) or is it more about how I interact with other people using the service? Maybe it's both?

These little differences influence the final outcome.
