It's from Babylon Bee so par for the course of bad conservative boomer humor

[–] MacDougal@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (4 children)

We really won't know that until these kids get older.

you're acting like this is some kind of new thing. it's not. trans kids have already been using puberty blockers, and it's been fine. it's only new to people like you who didn't care one way or the other about trans people until you were told they were on the wrong side of the culture war.

I mean, they've been FDA approved since 1993, and in use in some place since the 80s.

So literally 30 - 40 years, and nothing yet..

Yes we do, you're acting like this was never done before. We have people who have grown up after receiving gender affirming therapy and the outcome is so much better than the alternative (extremely high risk of suicide before they reach the age of majority) that the APA considers it irresponsible not to offer gender affirming therapy.

This would be funny to my redneck-ass boomer dad. I'm not sure you'll get many laughs out of this in here.

I'll be sure to run my posts by our resident Gen Z-er in the future.

Oh, wait, you're posting this unironically? I thought this would be posted to make fun of the bee.
