Given the way other sites have gone I doubt that those that go back once the blackout ends for some subs will be able to tolerate staying for long.

Just subbed to your washingtondc community as well. Definitely will miss that and r/nova from reddit. Hopefully both communities take off. Thanks for creating!

Was considering making c/nova but I figured c/Virginia will be kind of a long shot regardless. I hope it takes off too! I loved the community discussions and being able to discuss news around town. Also for transparency: I anticipate having two lemmy accounts by the way, my other is @gabuwu@beehaw.org which is where I will be mainly posting when outside of here!
