Something in the Chrono Trigger canon.
Unfortunately, I dont think it could happen anymore as all the people that made the original have mostly left Square to retire or start their own companies.
I would like to see a new Valkyrie Profile game. Not something like Valkyrie Elysium, that is for sure some different kind of game. A modern approach of it would be nice.
A Xenogears remaster is still at the top of my list.
For a dead franchise, Suikoden is still my favorite JRPG world, but I don't think anyone's bringing that magic back at this point. Eiyuden was a fine game, but even that didn't have the parts of Suikoden I liked most. I guess I wish I had an alternate timeline where Murayama wasn't pushed out of Konami.
Quest64 for sure. I'd even go for a decompilation project!

So a remake of 1&2 or a 4th game?
not sure if Dark Cloud 2 counts as it's a Japanese Action Role-Playing Game but wanted to mention it as it's one of my all time favorites
