Reminder that the Red Sea attacks have still resulted in zero casualties. In response, the US-UK has killed 22 fighters.

Disrupting trade is punishable by death.

Picking a fight with a superpower is generally a poor idea. Killing military members - even in Jordan - might be considered a bit beyond mere commerce.

Edit: I did misremember the attackers in Jordan and thought that was part of the Houthi organization. The Houthi's are attacking US warship(s) in the area, but haven't directly killed an US service members that we know of/yet. The Jordan attack was (now that I've checked again) by one of the groups operating under the Islamic Resistance in Iraq.

My only defense here is that all of these attacks on US and UK vessels (merchant and military) are in retribution for the US support of Israel. And, yes, there are a lot of groups backed by Iran and Iraq who are using the Israel-Hamas/Israel destruction of Gaza as an excuse to lash out at Western powers who (generally) provide support to Israel. My apologies for the error.

That was a different group. I guess they're all the same to you, huh?

I've edited my post for accuracy, it was genuinely an honest mis-remembering of the attack; thank you for the clarification.

The US helped Saudi Arabia bomb the shit out of Yemen for a long time (search). I'm not properly educated about this myself but there are war crimes, starvation, a lot of shit. I mean you can't keep up. But to them, enforcing sanctions against Israel creates local support, otherwise they are a pretty bad Islamist regime. The Houthis are also not proxys of Iran. So US bombing them probably helps them too internally.

But there is so much shit going on that it's hard to keep up.

This is the fourth time they're bombing Yemen since the Yemeni government started blocking ships supplying "israel"

4th time since January. The Houthis (not the Yemeni government) have been attacking ships in the Red Sea since October/November.

Ah my bad.

Houthi/Ansarallah are the main Yemeni government though, with over 80% of the population under their governance with popular support. Regardless of whether foreign countries or those supporting the genocide recognize that or not.
