Hi friends, I really want to get into Gundam but god it's just to much, I can't spend months watching all of it and what I want is to watch the new shows that are coming out now (like the shows that where made between 2020 and now) while also knowing what's going on.

So where should I start and is there like a youtube video that recaps the main like plot points up to it? Please help!

I agree with @entopicdrift’s comment, you’re good to go with the non-UC series.

You could start with the stand alone series that popularized Gundam in the west, Gundam Wing.

I loved wing when it was back on adult swim and I was a teenager. But I tried to watch it again a few years ago... It did not age very well. Also, a lot of filler and recycled animation. If you do wing, you might want to look to see if there's a watch list of the essential episodes.

08th MS team is my favorite. Grounded, great, concise...

I’ve rewatched Wing more within the last 10 years and it has its flaws but it’s still pretty gripping. Great battle sequences and fun characters even if the plot doesn’t always make the most sense. Although you could say the same about some UC series and movies.

I like 08th MS Team a lot but I’m not sure if it’s the best place to start for the full Gundam experience.

Seed might be another possibility for a good starting place.
