!nostupidquestions is a community space dedicated to being helpful and answering each others' questions on various topics.
The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:
Rules
1-All posts must be legitimate questions. Questions that are joke or trolling questions, memes, song lyrics as title, etc. are not allowed here. See Rule 6 for all exceptions.
2-Your question subject cannot be illegal and/or NSFW material. You will be warned first, banned second.
3-Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. It’s not safe and there will be niche communities for that.
4-No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.
5-Questions we suspect of being leading questions or asked merely to promote an agenda or sealioning are not allowed.
Rule 6-Provided it is about Lemmy or the community itself, you may post non-question posts using the [META] tag on your post title.
On fridays, you are allowed to post meme and troll questions, on the condition that it's in text format only, and conforms with our other rules. These posts MUST include the [NSQ Friday] tag in their title.
If you post a serious question on friday and are looking only for legitimate answers, then please include the [Serious] tag on your post. Irrelevant replies will then be removed by moderators.
7-If you harass, disturb or discriminate against any group our any of our members in any way, you will be banned on sight.

It’s definitely normal for me at least, I have ADD though. Whenever I finish a chapter, it’s a must for me to skim it over again. I just read the first sentence or two of each paragraph and I move on when I have the order of the major events mapped out in my head. Recalling the order of what I’ve read helps me a ton when it comes to processing it.
Same! It takes so long to finish a book. And it doesn't help that reading a book makes me sleepy for some reason. I feel too restless to take a nap during the day but reading a book makes me fall asleep almost instantly. And when I read I see the words but usually only register a small part of it so I also have to go back and reread it a few times. >.<
Samsies but I also have adhd. Crazy Insomnia but put a book in my hand in the middle of the day and it’s zzzzzz. When I am awake I get half at best and reread/rewind non stop
That's interesting. Who would've thought reading would be the way to fight away insomnia? I wonder how that works haha.
